Guess What We Just Did??

Today.  Today is a very big day.

Today we sat down at the computer and bought 6 one-way tickets to Ukraine.

After we finished our transaction Jed and I just stood there looking at each other with really stupid grins on our faces.  HA!

"We just did that!"

I've traveled a lot, but I've never, ever bought a one-way ticket...or SIX one-way tickets!

God is so faithful to us.  We had budgeted $7,000 for airfare based on the rates we had seen and paid before.  The tickets we bought this morning totaled a whoppin' $3,600.  WHAT???  That's right!  Praise God!

So, November 12th (11/12/13...yes!) we'll be leavin' on a jet plane, bound for our new life in Ukraine.

Giddy doesn't even begin to describe it.  Scared out of our brains doesn't even begin to describe it either.  Happy as clams and sad as can be at the same time.  82 days and we'll be off!  YEEHAW!

Do you have questions for us?  I'm preparing to do a big detail-filled post for your reading pleasure :) We try to fill you all in on the details, but it's easy to forget what we've told people and what we just think we've told people.  Ask away and we'll be more than happy to give you an answer!

  1. The only people in this story I can be happy for right now are the laying children you will touch, heal, love on. I am so thrilled for them! But I don't want to say goodbye to you. You touch people in powerful ways here that you may not even know; my misted eyes are not lying to me. I am so happy for the little ones. Oh Jesus is happy too.

    1. Awww this made me almost cry! Thank you for your super kind words.

  2. Wow! So excited for your family and am looking forward to seeing how the other details unfold!

  3. All excited & bubbling over with joy for you guys... trivia - some pretty big things happened on Nov 12 in history, see here
this is so revealing what a history nut i am...
Now we can add Wide Awake takes U to that list ;)

  4. We leave November 3! Wave to us as you pass over the UK. :-)

  5. 1. Seth came to you through fostering. Do you think you may adopt on the journey you are now ?

    2. Can any of the children in the baby houses be sponsored ? Many people can't adopt but would love to do other things if they can.

    3. Generic prayer is good, but how can we pray specifically for you ?

  6. I'm happy for you! How are finances shaping up and have you learned a basic understanding of the language?

    Sue H.

We'd love to hear from you!
